Mentoring
At Bethany, students entering their 10th grade year begin a two year mentoring relationship with a mentor of their choosing. The mentor is a caring adult who shares time, conversation, and experience for the growth and encouragement of the student. This mentor should be a regular attender of Bethany Church.
Mentoring is the act of helping someone learn. Mentors can serve as a teacher, friend, guide, and encourager. At the same, this relationship is intended to be mutually beneficial. Both the mentor and the mentee commit to participate for a specified period of time. Bethany arranges for a two year commitment with a scheduled meeting per month during the school year.
Materials to help bring direction to the mentoring relationship are provided for both the mentor and the mentee.
